In the early 70’s we purchased a tract of land for family recreation, not realizing it was on the edge of the Old Frost Jackson Swamp. This area was totally cleared during the early years of the soybean craze – Being a swamp that was flooding created the demise of soybean farming in that area leaving many acres dormant.With a commitment to live a very modest lifestyle, we began purchasing land and eventually acquired the majority of this 1000+ acre swamp. Love of the land inspired us to start replanting cypress and other hardwoods & recreating water impoundments as exist in the wild swamp areas of Louisiana. Surprisingly, this resulted in an abundance of wildlife and crawfish naturally in the wild. It obviously was evolving back to its’ origin; a beautiful swamp bottom. Never dreamed we would be so blessed to live on this swamp bottom, providing us a chance to move back in time. Truly a lifestyle known by few….What resulted was a way to blend land restoration and commercial industry together as we began to market crawfish into the region. With some success our motivation to create an out of state market became our main goal. Through trial-and-error methods were created to successfully do that. Then, along came the internet, and Louisiana Crawfish Company was born!The growth has been beyond belief and 2nd generation along with modern day technology has kept the dream alive & prosperous.
